For patients and public

Each year, about 250,000 people suffer a burn injury and present in a health care setting. Around 175,000 attend Accident and Emergency departments, and 13,000 of these are admitted to hospital. Of these, around 1,000 are diagnosed as severe and will require specialist treatment, complex surgery, and a lengthy period of rehabilitation.

The following pages provide information and advice to people who have suffered with a burn and for the general public.
